Retaining walls with the drainage done right.
Walls fail from water more than weight. Every wall we build gets drain rock and a perforated pipe behind it so winter rain has somewhere to go besides pushing on the blocks.

What we do differently
Drainage behind every wall
Clean gravel backfill, filter fabric and a perforated drain that daylights or ties into your system.
Buried first course
The bottom row sits below grade on a compacted base so the wall cannot kick out at the toe.
Permits handled
Walls over 4 feet, measured from the bottom of the footing, or walls holding back a driveway or slope, usually need a permit and sometimes an engineer. We flag this at the estimate.
Seat walls and planters
Low walls that double as seating around a patio or fire pit, capped to match.
I had received multiple quotes for different companies, but Elevation Landscaping communication and pricing is what stood out the most. I'm glad we did because everything was professional, on time and affordable! So happy with finished product.
Common questions
What kind of block do you use?
Segmental block from major manufacturers is the default because it is engineered for retaining. Natural stone and stucco-finished walls are options for low garden walls.
My wall is leaning. Can it be fixed?
Sometimes a short section can be rebuilt. If the lean comes from missing drainage, the right fix is usually rebuilding with drainage behind it. We will tell you which after looking.
How tall can a wall be without an engineer?
It depends on the block, soil and what sits above the wall. As a rule, plan on engineering for walls over 4 feet or any wall holding back a load.
